As the lead and lifecycle regulator of the Canada-Nova Scotia offshore area, the CNSOER recognizes that in carrying out our regulatory processes, it is important to engage with Indigenous groups and rights holders, the fishing sector, the public, and other stakeholders.

How To Provide Feedback - Written Comments

As part of the petroleum-related Call for Bids process, the CNSOER invites Indigenous groups and rights holders, fishers, and the public to provide written comments on petroleum-related Call for Bids NS25-1P.

The public written comment period is available from July 7, 2025 until September 5, 2025.

Next Steps

After the public written comment period for petroleum-related Call for Bids NS25-1P closes on September 5, 2025, all feedback will be reviewed by the CNSOER prior to the issuance of Exploration Licences.

To ensure our public written commenting period is fair and transparent, once the commenting period closes, we will post comments we receive on this web page and in a public 'What We Heard' report. However, comments of confidential nature (e.g. Indigenous knowledge) will not be posted publicly.
