Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Energy Regulator Announces Results of Petroleum-Related Call for Bids NS25-1P
The Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Energy Regulator’s (CNSOER) petroleum-related Call for Bids NS25-1P has received two successful bids prior to the closing of the petroleum-related Call for Bids NS25-1P on April 28, 2026.

On November 14, 2025, the CNSOER's CEO, Christine Bonnell-Eisnor, spoke at Marine Renewables Canada's 2025 Conference on a panel session titled 'Building Certainty: Aligning Policy, Permitting and Projects.' Christine spoke about the important work the CNSOER is doing and our role as the lead and lifecycle offshore energy regulator.

Notice of Strategic Direction Respecting Offshore Wind Call for Bids
On September 18, 2025, the CNSOER received joint Strategic Direction from the Government of Canada and the Government of Nova Scotia to formally initiate the process to issue a Call for Bids for offshore wind within the Canada-Nova Scotia offshore area.

The updated Code of Practice “Fatigue Management in the Atlantic Canada Offshore Petroleum Industry, 2025 (CoP-FM)" has been published. The previously issued Safety Directive on the topic of fatigue management is no longer necessary and has been withdrawn.
Notice of Joint Directive to CNSOER Regarding Offshore Renewable Energy Recommendations Related to Call for Bids
On March 6, 2025, the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Energy Regulator received a joint directive regarding offshore renewable energy recommendations related to Call for Bids from the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Canada, and the Honourable Trevor Boudreau, Minister of Energy for Nova Scotia.
